As a lesbian and as a human being I am appaled what this women said about Matthew Sheppard. I am surprised that his mother didn't come after her with a 2 x 4 in her hands but of course you can't do that in Congress! Shame on her! true he was robbed but it was still a HATE CRIME! The killers ADMITTED to it being a hate crime!!!!

As a gay man in Pennsylvania this video makes me so angry this woman has absolutly no idea what she is talking about and obviously hasnt taken the time to look into it.And to say these things with Judy Shepard setting in the audience shows the ignorance of some republicans and how in tune they are to the American people only a die hard hateful person could utter those things in that room and dismiss Matthews death as simply a robbery these gentlemen would not have introduced themselves as gay if they werent trying to specifically gain Matthews trust I can only hope that this ignorance keeps being brought to the forefront and shown to everyone. Only shame will get these people to wake up
