Gratification in Volunteering

With President Obama's call to service with the signing of the Edward M. Kennedy National Act. I had to admit that I was putting off some kind of volunteer work. Guess I was caught up in a form of I'm too busy (so I thought). No intentions of any sort of glory or having any kind of special skills. Just a couple of hours of helping out on the Capital Area Greenbelt. The gratification of making our planet a little greener to me was more valuable than that green dollar bill could ever buy. Wether it is helping out at a animal shelter, a neighbor, local hospital, etc the benefits can be rewarding. The website to the Edward Kennedy act is www.nationalservice.gov.
