St. Michael & All Angels Church Welcomes YOU!

Are You Looking for a spiritual home? Consider St. Michael's and All Angels in nearby historic Middletown, PA

St. Michael & All Angels Church is a member of the Episcopal Diocese of Central Pennsylvania. The parish has a long history in the community dating from the mid-19th century even though its current home is the former base chapel for Homestead Air Force Base. Located near the entrance to Harrisburg International Airport's long term parking facility (corner of Ann and Grant Streets), the parish worships weekly at 9:30 AM Sunday with the Eucharist (Holy Communion).

The small congregation is warm and inviting. Its members are dedicated to mission and to outreach in the local community as well recognizing their joint responsibility for the world at large. Currently, the parish is involved in bringing clean drinking water to the people of Dafur, sponsors a child through the United Christians Children's Fund and participates in many projects through Episcopal Relief Services. It helps to staff the local thrift shop and works with other area churches through local ecumenical organizations.

The parish holds true to the Episcopal tradition of worship but without slavish adherence, always considering new ways of looking at age-old prayers, hymns, rituals and other traditions.

As the congregation proclaims, "We are tiny but we are mighty in the Lord!" it seeks to grow through its outreach to all people regardless of color, gender, or sexual orientation. It hears a "full Gospel" message within the context of Anglican tradition's three part approach to religious observance: Scripture, Reason, and Tradition.

If you have experienced an emptiness or any sort of spiritual longing, give St. Michael's a try. You'll be glad you did!

Rector: Rev. Dr. David A. Zwifka
