Next month welcomes the 100th birthday of President John F. Kennedy who famously asked Americans not to vilify the establishment but to embrace their efficacy as capable members of it. And last month marks precisely 50 years since the District Attorney of New Orleans went before the world’s media and accused that same establishment of murdering JFK, as well as using the gay community as a scapegoat.
This remarkable story crowns Jeremiah Miller’s new play, Guilty Parties of New Orleans, based largely on the research of Skeptic Magazine contributor and JFK expert David Reitzes. In the most expansive book ever written about the assassination, bestselling author and famed Manson-prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi called Reitzes “one of the best researchers working in the field.”
Guilty Parties of New Orleans will be presented by Theater of the Seventh Sister as a staged reading at Community Mennonite Church on April 28 at 7:30 PM. Director Josh Dorsheimer’s all-star cast of local actors like Brian Martin, Cynthia Charles and Gene Ellis will be joined by Jeremiah Miller and David Reitzes for an audience talk-back immediately following the performance.
Tickets are $15. For $25 you can return the next day at 7:30 PM for Spoken Word Play 15 directed by Marie Winger and Daina Savage.
